5 Million Metre Challenge Memory

Who remembers this? Thanks to Iain Hill for being the first new Bourne Alumni member to share a picture and a memory. Iain, 2nd from left, was Club President when this snap was taken of the club completing the World Erg Endurance record in May 1997. The club rowed non-stop for 17 days and covered five million metres. Then the club went straight to BUCS to race after record was broken. In all 39 people took part in teams of 4, for 4 hour shifts 24/7. That's a helluva and effort. But who else is in this picture. We can spot Keven Ayles, BUBC's founder behind the fan wheel. And Iain reckons there's a guy called Mark standing next to him who rowed the Atlantic and did 24 hours of the 17 day marathon with his crew mate. What's Mark's surname?
